George explained how he tries to find out the history behind each of the characters in his portraits to incorporate a personal element into the painting.
We were delighted to hear of George Petrous’ journey to becoming an acclaimed artist, specialising in depicting the lives of many of Australia war time heroes through his portraits which now appear in museums and galleries throughout the world.

A jester, court jester, fool or joker was a member of the household of a nobleman or a monarch employed to entertain guests during royal court.
