If you miss the Rotary meeting, you can always catch up on the news.
A seamless segue
Today’s speaker, Sophie Flynn, prefaced her talk with some news of her daughter Evie, who is currently representing Hawthorn Rotary as a Rotary Exchange Student in France. Sophie then smoothly moved on to her subject, UNICEF. Neatly done!
Footy Tipping
“Join the Footy Tipping”, I heard them say. So I did. Now I wonder what it is all about.
Then I did a Google:
Footy tipping, or AFL tipping
, is a competition in which you try to guess the winners of AFL matches.
Before a match starts, all participants make their guesses. Those who pick correctly are rewarded with points.
Fair enough, I thought, but I need more information. I Googled again:
If you pick the winning team, but not the winning margin, your 'Round Margin' will equal the difference between the actual game margin and the margin you tipped. If you tip the losing Team, your 'Round Margin' will equal the points/goals difference of the actual game margin PLUS the margin you tipped.
Thanks for that. Amazing! Good luck to the other competitors.
