It was good to see so many members today at our Zoom meeting, and also to welcome Sarah Ward, the Player Welfare Manager and Sam Waldron, the President of the Hawthorn Amateur Football Club.

Also Stuart Stockdale, President of Taverners Victoria, John Perry, and Lia Triana who is a Rotaract member from Tarragona Spain and is studying at Swinburne University.

Sarah gave members a great insight into the WINGS programme that the Hawthorn Amateur Football Club runs and also a good overview of the extensive offerings that the Club is able to give to our local community.  The WINGS programme has a strong focus on mental health and it was marvellous to hear how the Club is able to reach out to the border community and help with mental health awareness and assistance that is need to far too many people particularly during the COVID-19 crisis.

I have added the website for the Hawthorn Amateur Football Club so that members who are interested can go on line and learn more about the WINGS programme www.hafc.com.au/wings.

It was my pleasure to induct new member David McNamara: we look forward to a long and productive association with David, who has already made himself known to most members.

For those members who are interested in music please see below my choices for this week.  I hope that you enjoy them:

Mussorgsky Pictures at an Exhibition

Handel Water Music

Vaughan Williams The Lark Ascending

Duke Ellington 'In a Sentimental Mood'

I look forward to seeing everyone next week when Delphine Genin will be the Member Behind the Badge.
