Rotary Down Under this month has several articles on Mental Health issues, from childhood to old age.
RI President Gordon McInally invites us to “Create hope in the world” on 2nd June at Cape Schanck, when Keynote Speaker Professor Patrick McGorry will talk on “Engaging with the next generation of leaders”.
More than 26.4 million people world-wide are affected by depression, according to the World Health Organisation, and although many mental health conditions can be effectively treated at relatively low cost, many people who need treatment do not receive it.
Meanwhile in many places, depression, anxiety and suicide are seen as things to be ashamed offend kept quiet. But Rotary members are recognising the gaps in understanding and resources and are stepping up to help.
Rotary Down Under is really worth a read this month. HERE
