A Modest Rotarian and the Age of AI

This week has been a challenging one for your Modest Rotarian.

The topic of Artificial Intelligence, addressed at the Rotary Club of Hawthorn Breakfast, was indeed timely. As your Modest Rotarian scanned the room, he could not help but be impressed by the number of Rotarians of advancing years who have embraced this new age of technology.

No sooner had your M.R arrived home, however, than he encountered an IT problem.

And, surprisingly, this was not due to the age of its operator, but rather the age of his computer.

It came as something of a shock to discover that the computer which had served him so faithfully for what he believed to be six years was, in fact, thirteen years old.

So, perhaps with some gratitude, your M R reflected that he had outlived such an essential part of modern life — the PC.
