There were many new faces at Hawthorn Rotary's last lunch time meeting, being all Rotarians and Friends of fellow cluster club Kew RC.   The meeting was a buzz with conservation as members from the two clubs mingled-even at the same table!  Technically the meeting was under the formal direction of  Kew RC with President Carl Zammit at the helm as Prof Mary Galea addressed the joint gathering.(see below)    It was most egalitarian however as Hawthron Rotary president Katrina Flinn got in her say too from time to time.

One highlight was the presentation of $1000 from Kew to Hawthorn for services rendered in support of Kew's op shop which has relocated from Camberwell Junction to 630 High Street Kew.   Primarily those services came from two Hawthorn stalwarts David Pisterman, who regularly gives up days serving at the shop and Gordon Cheyne who sourced many goods for sale at the shop from DIK.

Our photographer (he must have an apprentice?) was there too and captured the two presidents enjoying the moment either side of David & Gordon.   Other photos can be seen via the link
