Care Bag Packing

Rotary Hawthorn members and friends are hard at work. On Tuesday, our experienced team of Rotary Hawthorn members Katrina, Doug, Noel, Denbigh, Julie, Sue, and Ian Mac packed over 200 care bags for the patients of The Alfred & Upton House Box Hill. Well done, team!

Camcare Winter Food Project Thank you to members who have already donated food. There is just one meeting left this month to donate food—30 July. Please note this on your calendar, as Camcare is desperate to provide food to vulnerable Melbourne residents.
Camcare advises: All goods must be purchased new, unopened and within expiry dates. Please do not donate tinned soup but tinned fish, vegetables and fruit, pasta/sauces, rice, oil, coffee/tea/chocolate, biscuits, honey/jam/vegemite etc., personal hygiene products/detergents.
Thank you, members; imagine how your donation will benefit a vulnerable family.

Inclusive Communities Initiative part of Rotary SAFE Families working with diverse communities. Dorothy is seen here with four of the 60 Somalian Australian women who met at the East African Women’s Foundation, Braybrook last week. Dorothy provided a workshop in a culturally sensitive format to these wonderful women. A keen interest and many questions were asked in the area of child abuse and its life-long ramifications for a child who has witnessed abuse or been abused, in their family.
