“Oh! What a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive” refers to how complicated life becomes when people start lying. It originally referred to a love triangle in the play “Marmion” by Sir Walter Scott.

“Truth telling”, of course, is a feature of “Around the Traps”

Bad Circulation

We have been reviewing the lists of Bulletin Recipients: there are “Friends of Rotary”, Bulletin Subscribers, Active and Inactive Members, Member’s Partners, Meeting Guests, Volunteers, District 9800 and so on. It was no surprise that some names appeared on several lists, and that some on the lists have moved on.

So we shall slim down the lists to avoid duplication, while taking care to not remove any recipients.

If however you find you are not receiving “The Bulletin”, please let The Editor know: gcheyne@bigpond.net.au

We would hate to lose any of our valued readers.

Aengus Ó Snodaigh TD, a serving member of the Irish parliament, has been filmed telling a voter to “f— —f” after they quizzed him on the issue of immigration.

Ó Snodaigh is a member of the left-wing Sinn Féin, a party that — while supporting a variety of far-left causes such as transgenderism and mass migration — receives a sizable amount of its support from right-leaning voters for historic reasons.  -  Breitbart.

As one reader commented: “Can I get a translator here? Sorry, I only speak English.”

EAST OF EDEN — After watching his wife unwrap a present from every human on the face of the earth, Adam started to become suspicious that Eve had made up this whole "Mother's Day" celebration.

"It just seems a bit contrived," said Adam. "That's all I'm going to say, okay?"

At publishing time, Adam had decided to come up with a day called "Father's Day" where everyone on earth was required to leave him alone.

Willie Wonka Gender Swaps

In the latest woke assault on the works of Roald Dahl, a theatre company has sparked outrage by casting girls to play the lead role in Charlie and The Chocolate Factory.

According to The Sun newspaper, audiences at a performance in Cardiff, Wales were stunned by the woke alterations to the story of a young boy who goes on a grand adventure after finding a golden ticket.

According to readers: “Dahl’s stories and characters were genius. Viewers don’t want or need them to be altered.”

The Bookwrrms surely agree.
