How nice that we will start next Rotary Year with a Club Forum.
But what the heck is a Club Forum?
Several newer members have never heard of a Club Forum. - A forum is a place, situation, or group in which people exchange ideas and discuss issues, especially important public issues.
This meeting is a
n opportunity for members to ask questions, debate and find out about issues and events that affect our club.
Some clubs (e.g. Knox) have them frequently: The first meeting of each month is a designated club forum where members are updated about club activities and projects as well as given the opportunity to plan and discuss future events.
So a Forum can be used to receive reports on club activities, or to set goals, and to let members have their say on what they want to contribute or to receive from the club.
You may wonder what your fellow-members think about it. Here’s a sample:
I am against this idea of 2 face to face meetings a zoom meeting and a bye on the other.
I joined to enjoy the fellowship we had every month with 4 meetings, and having the opportunity to raise suggestions re projects or functions we could be involved in and we would solicit support or acceptance during the 1/2 hour prior to the meeting. (Preferably sharing a glass or two).
Other members have raised:
How often should we meet? Should we stay as we are, revert back to normal (weekly meetings) now that Covid is over, or something else?
How frequently would you (each member) attend?
Should we continue with monthly Zoom speakers with members at home, or with occasional Zoom on the big screen at a normal lunch meeting? The Beauty of Zoom is we can access speakers that we normally couldn’t.
Any other directions or programmes we should adopt? Do we have enough social evenings, excursions, etc.

· Fundraising
· Special events
· Avenues of Service
· And provide a chance for you to have your say
