PRESIDENTS NOTE

The world is changing at a very rapid rate. To think that we were able to meet at Kooyong last week, being mindful of social distancing, and this

week to be in a total State of Emergency is both confronting and challenging. I trust that all members are in good health both mentally and physically.

It is certainly hard to rearrange your life in a very short time however we may be able to reconsider old hobbies, reading, listening to music and getting in touch with friends and family via phone or the computer.

This is how we can use technology to continue in Rotary:

Vale Ngaire Cannon

Ngaire Cannon passed on 13 March 2020 aged 77 years.

Due to current circumstances Ngaire's funeral and burial at Sorrento on Thursday 26th March will be Private.

The service will also be streamed on-line for the convenience of those who would like to attend remotely. (See link below.)

A commemoration for her life will be held at Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club at a later date.

FIRST Hawthorn Rotary Cookbook

The idea of creating this cookbook came to me as I have an elderly American friend who many years ago was President of the American Women’s Association. At that time they had created a cookbook and were selling the book through family members and friends.

I purchased one of these books and it has been my best friend for many years.

The Rotary International Convention, scheduled for 6-10 June 2020, in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA, has been canceled in response to the ongoing threat of COVID-19, the illness caused by the novel coronavirus. The decision is necessary to protect the health of everyone involved.

Saviour of women Catherine Hamlin dies aged 96

They laughed.

They don't seem to care or realize

the whirling emotions within me.

They don't seem to care at all.

They just laugh,

And I don't think it's funny at all.
