This week President Andrew reports on the presentation of some awards for notable contributions to the Club in 2021/22, and thanks members for their generous support of the Camcare Food Project in its first week.
Jennifer Jones, Rotary International’s first female president, is the perfect leader to spread the word about the good Rotary does in the world, and inspire its members to keep going.
You may recognise these people who have been recognised for their tremendous work for Rotary and the Rotary Foundation. The Distinguished Service Award is yet to be presented, but the others awards were presented at the District 9800 Conference in April.
Many members will remember former Rotary Hawthorn member Tony Charlton AM and his great contribution to the club.
Tony also helped in being M.C. for many events including the District 9800 Canberra conference (when Bernie Walshe was District Governor). At that conference he organised for Australian astronaut Andy Thomas to speak.
"Around the traps" is an Australian slang expression which generally refers to the fact that two or more people are likely to be gathered in the same location in the near future.
