What great day at the Shrine. Officially the Shrine of Remembrance but always known to Melbournians as ‘The Shrine”. And such treasures buried there. The crypt was stark but meaningful and full of interest. Our history buffs would have had plenty to absorb. Our guide certainly knew his material. Pleased to see Winston Churchill get a mention too – not always favorably, it has to be said.
The meal across the road was also excellent if not exactly a “light lunch”. Especially the Risotto – no seconds please.

This week I had the pleasure of going to the GSE Welcome Dinner for our incoming USA team from the New Orleans area. They were an interesting and amiable group so hopefully we can have them to one of our lunches before they go home. Y’All have a good time now!.
With Anzac Day approaching, please support Anne Scott who is selling Poppies as a fund raiser for “Mates 4 Mates” , an organization for ADF Veterans. The Centenary of Anzac should be incentive enough.
Soon it will be “Rotarians At Work Day” (April 11) when we will be asked to join with our sister clubs in Boroondara to be visible for Rotary. Please mark the date.
