Greetings! I am writing this as a “Feather Duster” (Past President) on behalf of President Ian Bentley. Ian and Jane are travelling in Canada with Vincent Chen and his gorgeous wife Chen. They have attended the RI Convention in Calgary and are now in Banff.
Ian presented Rotary SAFE Families to a group in the HUB with Vincent handing out our printed resources and “Please Donate” flyers! Ian has said the main topic at the Convention was “membership”. We shall hear more on his return mid July. Here are some photos of Ian, Jane, Vincent and Chen in Calgary and Banff:

Taking in the sites: Vincent & Chen.
Time for a Refreshment break. From L to R: Chen, Ian, Jane & Vincent.
The Feather Duster’s quote for the week: Confucius says:
“When it is obvious that the goals cannot be reached, don't adjust the goals; adjust the action steps.”
Terrific shot of President Ian and Vincent.
Making wonderful friendships with people you may have otherwise not met, is a big part of Rotary.
What an experience!
I'm sure we'll hear all about it when they get back.
Notice to Members:A private funeral was held for Lawrence Reddaway on 23 June, but a large celebration of his life will be held some months hence when other family members return from overseas.

Jane Stewart, Co-Founder of It's the Little Things
'At It’s the Little Things Community, our meals are more than just nourishment—they are a symbol of care, dignity, and human connection. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared in a home-style manner, using fresh, wholesome ingredients and guided by compassion. We craft every meal with the goal of bringing comfort, warmth, and a sense of normalcy to those experiencing hardship.
Whether it’s a hearty casserole for a family seeking refuge from domestic violence, a nutritious lunch for someone experiencing homelessness, or a lovingly packed dinner for a child in hospital care, our meals reflect the kindness of the volunteers, schools, and businesses who come together to make them possible.'
PROJECT UPDATES
DV Safe Phones – Your old phone could save a life!
We would like to thank Rotary Melbourne for their significant contribution of old phones to our DV Safe Phone initiative.
Jane and Dorothy will make fortnightly visits to collect phones from our Donation Boxes around Boroondara to send to DV Safe Phones in Queensland where they will be professionally “cleaned” of content. They will then distributed by professional Family Violence organisations to victims of family abuse, to ensure their “safety”.
You can play a vital role in ensuring every call for help is heard. Please, bring your old phone to a lunch meeting.
IMPORTANT DATES:
12 August - A visit to the Bionics Institute.
