Supporting the Environment Becomes a New Area of Focus
The Rotary Foundation Trustees and Rotary International Board of Directors have both unanimously approved adding a new area of focus: supporting the environment.
Another of our Past District Governors presents us with some of his reminiscences of his year as Club President: this time we have Dennis Shore (2002-2003). He says:
As was the way, I was advised that the nomination committee thought it was time that I answered the call to be President. I no longer had excuses I had previously offered of being overseas most of the time, so after consultation with Lynda the die was cast, well almost.
a. Causing laughter or amusement: a funny cartoon.
b. Making or given to making amusing jokes or witticisms: a colleague who is very funny.
c. Appropriate as the subject of a joke; deserving of a joke. Used in negative sentences to express disapprovalor to emphasize the seriousness of something: There is nothing funny about getting the flu.
d. Difficult to account for; unusual or odd: I had a funny feeling that she would call.
e. Suspiciously odd: It's funny how I seem to lose something every time he comes around.
f. Counterfeit or fraudulent: tried to pass off funny money as legitimate.
g. Informal Somewhat ill, painful, or abnormal: "I felt funny after eating those clams." "A mole on his arm that has started to go funny".
