ROTARY FAIR TRADE

The Rotary Club of Kew has established a Sustainability Enterprise by way of a Fair Trade Shop located at 650 High Street Kew East.
 
The aim is to support both DIK, the Donations in Kind store which recycles equipment and goods and sends useful items overseas and to disadvantaged communities in Australia and to also support Camcare, while continuing to support Rotary Fair Trade enterprises in East Timor, Nepal and Laos.

Congratulations Rotary Melbourne

This week marks a special time in Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands Rotary history when we celebrate the establishment of Rotary in our region a century ago with the chartering of the Rotary Club of Melbourne, followed very shortly after by Rotary Sydney, then Auckland and Wellington.
 
I am sure all Rotarians in District 9800 join me in congratulating Rotary Melbourne in our District 9800 and acknowledge its incredible contribution. There is no doubt the Club will continue to be a beacon of giving over the next 100 years

THE RON CARR AWARDS

For many years, a highlight of the Rotary year for Rotary Hawthorn was the presentation of the Ron Carr Award, named in honour of Ron Carr who was President in 1981-82, having joined the club in 1965.
 
It was always easy to find Ron’s office, which was originally at 444 Burwood Road – just above the mower shop where a papier-mache Sir Robert Menzies pushing a mower was a well-known local oddity!
