Greetings! I blotted my copy book last week when I missed our meeting and Simon Costa’s presentation. I believe he was a terrific speaker, and I am very pleased as I was delighted to meet him at George’s book launch.
There is much planning and plotting as Ian and I hook up to collaborate on his Presidency in a few weeks. I have tried very hard to activate as many of my personal plans as your President in the short time span of just 12 months; but I do question of a year is enough time to expedite a President's ‘wish list’. I am very happy that Ian is taking over and we work well together on the same ‘wave length’ but fortunately for you all, without the Knock Knock jokes!
We have received a request for financial donations from District 9660 for the horrible flooding in NSW. We shall discuss how Rotary Hawthorn can provide some support for the 50,000 residents who have been removed from their homes and businesses and find themselves ricocheted into a very different world.
Please note that Big Mac is looking for some volunteers for the Salvo Hawks Game as noted below in the PROJECTS section.

DV Safe Phones – Your old phone could save a life!
For domestic violence (DV) victims, access to a safe phone can mean the difference between life and death.
Perpetrators often use phones to control and monitor their victims, leaving them isolated and without a secure way to keep in contact with friends and family or seek help.
You can play a vital role in ensuring every call for help is heard.
Bring your old phone to a lunch meeting and Jane Bentley and Dorothy Gilmour will ensure it is used to keep a victim ‘safer’.
Our Collection boxes will be placed in Boroondara Council high traffic areas.
10 June: Our Changeover Dinner. Ian is creating a beautiful celebration to mark Ian Bentley as our President 2025-26 – please diarise this date!
