He gave us a first-hand account of how important the MHU Care packs are to incoming patients at the Alfred, as the majority arrive with only the clothes they are wearing.
Poor Mental Health has become an epidemic in Australia. Evidence suggests that recent attempts have failed to significantly impact the prevalence and recovery rate of those suffering from mental ill health.
Our speaker this week, Dr Billy Lugg, challenged the notion that the route to recovery can be primarily through medication and that recent responses to improved mental health in Australia are falling short because fundamental issues are not being adequately addressed.
