PRESIDENTS NOTE

It was such a pleasure to welcome Past District Governor Bronwyn Stephens, Kerry Kornhauser OAM, John Campbell and Susan Chang to our Lunchtime meeting today.

Bronwyn, assisted by Katrina our International Services Director, presented the Cambodian World of a Difference Tour which will take place in January 2021.  I am sure that many members will be interested to join them on this Tour to see the work that is being done in Cambodia, particularly Peter Lugg's initiative at the Kampon Spue Provincial Hospital.  Also, to be a part of the many volunteering projects in Cambodia and to have the opportunity to see Cambodia itself.

World of Difference

Past District Governor Bronwyn Stephens started her dissertation with an overview of  “World of Difference”, which has been taking participants on combined cultural, donating and volunteering trips to Cambodia since November 2011.

A particularly important type of tour offered is a schoolies alternative experience.  The initial core intent of the project was to showcase what Rotary is doing in developing countries, and the project crosses several avenues of service including international and new generations.

THE SHADOW KNOWS!

We certainly had some charming guests at our meeting today: PDG Bronwyn Stephens was speaker-of-the-day, and Kerry Kornhauser presents a reminder of “Women’s Day” on 5th March.

In addition we had Dr Susan Chang, who is shortly off to a Public Health Convention in Switzerland. Susan was impressed with Bronwyn’s presentation, and may even join the tour!  John Campbell, one of the movers and shakers in the coffee cup project, was a guest of Noel Halford.
