This week we did not have our normal weekly meeting, but instead asked members to meet at DIK for a much-needed working bee session. I apologise for not being able to attend. It was very pleasing to hear, that it was well attended and thank-you to the following from our club that were able to make it; Noel and Lorraine McInnes, Henry and Jane Drury, Gordon Cheyne, Katrina Flinn, Julie Collete and Peter Lugg.
2021 International Women's Day Breakfast celebrations will be held between 8am on the 9th of March through until 5pm 12 March 2021. This event brings together high-profile leaders in their field; experienced and informed in the current issues of leadership and gender, who can offer their insight into ‘A Bold New World’- a world post 2020.
Tickets are $20 per head or $100 for group of 10.
Guest speakers include Jacinta Ardern (Prime Minister of New Zealand), Jennifer Jones (President-elect Rotary International, right), Dr Megan Clarke (Space Agency), Sally Capp (Lord Mayor Melbourne) and Colin Carter (President of Geelong Football club).
The Rotary Club of Hawthorn had the pleasure of endorsing Mr. Vincent Chen who has proven himself as a valuable member to our club. The formal induction will happen next Tuesday. Welcome Vincent.
