'Syd Sherrin has had his name written all over Australian Rules footballs all his life, having grown up in one of the AFL's most famous families. Sherrin is one of Australia's most recognised brands. Founded by T.W. Sherrin in 1879, the company has a long and proud history of making Australian Rules footballs, which continues to this day. The Sherrin family shaped the game of Australian Rules football in two indelible ways: in creating a football specifically designed for Australian Rules, and in helping to establish one of the game's greatest clubs, Collingwood. The family has also produced a Vice-President and a President of the Collingwood Football Club'.
