Hamish is the Stewardship Coordinator of Teach For Australia. He interned at the ABC's 7:30, before becoming a TV producer for the ABC's Insiders program under the tutelage of Laura Tingle and Barry Cassidy, and then The Project on Network Ten. He departed the media to "find his soul again" and landed a government engagement role at youth organisation Project Rockit before being offered his current role.

In his spare time he is a director of the Ormond College Association and the Project Rockit Foundation, which provides support and strategies for children in low SES communities to tackle bullying.

He is also a competitive rower at the Richmond Rowing Club and loud advocate for greater diversity and inclusion in community sport. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Public Policy from the University of Melbourne.
