Crime With a Twist Of History, At Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club
May 19, 2026
Laraine sets her Reggie da Costa Mysteries in the Melbourne of the early twentieth century, in the aftermath of the Great War and during the heady days of the 1920s, when gangs, sly-grog and gambling dens inhabited the back streets of Melbourne. In her talk, Laraine will discuss how she combined her love of crime fiction and history to depict historically accurate and lively settings for her Reggie da Costa Mysteries. May 26, 2026
Denvor Joseph is a Masters trained, New Zealand Audiological Society and Audiology Australia accredited Audiologist, with experience across both clinical care and education on the relationship between untreated hearing loss and cognitive decline. His focus is on helping people to overcome barriers to treatment and embrace hearing as central to living well.
Denvor began his career in high-growth audiology, working in Wellington and Masterton before managing a start-up clinic built around holistic, brain-focused hearing care. He has joined NeuAudio to lead the Melbourne clinic, bringing empathy, education, and a commitment to improving lives through hearing and brain health.
The Hearing And Brain Health presentation is an inspiring and practical session that helps audiences understand the powerful connection between hearing, communication, and brain health—and how comprehensive hearing care can transform how we hear, connect, and age.
