Optimising Pianism... and the science of thinking and doing better at ANYTHING
Cameron Roberts Optimising Pianism... and the science of thinking and doing better at ANYTHING Oct 21, 2025

'Dr Cameron Roberts is a world-class pianist and teacher. He is also a practising medical doctor. Further, he holds a PhD on the physical and perceptual aspects of touch. He is based in London and teaches advanced principles of piano performance and technique optimisation to talented and professional pianists. Passionate about piano playing and the magic that it can create, he is equally passionate about helping pianists achieve their potential and not suffer from the pitfalls of misguided practice time and injury.

He is frequently engaged to present at schools, universities, conservatories and conferences on the topic of Optimizing Pianism. He works with both talented students and professional pianists who strive for the highest levels of pianistic excellence, whilst offering specialist consultant services to pianists who suffer from technical problems, performance-related problems and injuries. He welcomes enquiries from pianists who strive for excellence in pianism, or who seek help with the diagnosis and management of pain or injury'.

The Chosen Few, A quest to name the ten greatest Australian and New Zealand racehorses of all time
Zoom Meeting, Andrew Rule, Journalist, Author The Chosen Few, A quest to name the ten greatest Australian and New Zealand racehorses of all time Oct 28, 2025
'Andrew Rule has reported on life and crimes and catastrophes (and sometimes sport) for more than 45 years. He has worked for each of Melbourne’s daily newspapers and also spent time in radio and television production and making documentaries on subjects ranging from crime to horse racing. His podcast Life & Crimes is one of News Corp’s most listened-to products'.
(Source: Herald Sun).

He is also the author of many books. His latest book is The Chosen Few, and is described by his publisher  Allen And Unwin:

'Who are the greatest Australian race horses? And what qualifies them for this honour? Racing enthusiast and award-winning writer Andrew Rule has the answers.

They are the greatest Australian and New Zealand racehorses of all time, the giants who transcend the sport, who broke records and captured hearts.

But which are the best of the best? Is it Carbine or Malua from the nineteenth century or Tulloch or Phar Lap in the twentieth? Winx or Black Caviar in our own time? Perhaps it is impossible to compare incomparables outside their own eras.

Andrew Rule was too big to be a jockey, too small to be a mounted policeman. But all his life he has watched horses and horse people and has written about both. About people who are not always admirable and about horses who so often are.

The horses he names in The Chosen Few include the sprinters, the stayers, the freakish all-round competitors who could do everything. But he also teases out myths and mistakes, pulls focus on racing's history and ponders the tantalising list of 'coodabeen' champions whose careers were cut short.

The result is a collection of stories about beauty and bravery, speed and greed'.

2025-11-25 00:00:00Z Nov 25, 2025 Kooyong LTC Roger Hunt Author, Live From The U.K. Vindicta Nov 25, 2025

Roger Hunt has had a lifelong interest in history.

After a business career, most recently in executive search, he has researched the remarkable story of the Scottish Benedictine monk, James Robertson. Vindicta is a novel closely based on events in 1808.

A Scottish monk takes revenge on Napoleon. It is 1808. Napoleon is nearing the zenith of his power. Desperate to dent his supremacy, the British government sends James Robertson, a middle-aged, overweight monk on a secret mission to persuade a Spanish general to betray Napoleon.
